Cleaning Your Fireplace
Each gas fireplace owners manual will advise to have the unit serviced annually, Here are some signs that may indicate your gas fireplace is ready for a cleaning:
#1 – Pilot will not ignite. This can mean spiders and/or insects have gotten inside the gas valve and has clogged the pilot light therefore must be cleaned out to get the unit up and running again.
#2 – Any visual residue such as soot or carboning inside the unit or on the glass.
#3 – If it has been over 2 years without having the fireplace serviced/cleaned, it is highly recommended to have professionals come out and thoroughly inspect and clean out the unit, leaving it looking and functioning like new.
