Does my Gas Fireplace Need Cleaning?
Each gas fireplace owners manual will advise to have the unit serviced annually, Here are some signs that may indicate your gas fireplace is ready for a cleaning:
#1 - Pilot will not ignite. This can mean spiders and/or insects have gotten inside the gas valve and has clogged the pilot light therefore must be cleaned out to get the unit up and running again.
#2 - Any visual residue such as soot or carboning inside the unit or on the glass.
#3 - If it has been over 2 years without having the fireplace serviced/cleaned, it is highly recommended to have professionals come out and thoroughly inspect and clean out the unit, leaving it looking and functioning like new.
